Wicca is a form of witchcraft that was developed in the 1920’s. The Wiccan culture did not gain popularity until the 1960’s due to a man named Gerald Gardener. Wicca can also be called Witchcraft of The Craft. The practice of magic is a large part of the Wiccan culture and is often used in ceremonies. There are different variations of Wiccas and beliefs vary among the groups. All the groups share common beliefs on the afterlife, magic, theology, and morality.
There are many rituals that Wiccans practice. One in particular is the celebration of Sabbats. Sabbats are based on the seasons and annually there about eight of them. Four occur on the solstices and equinoxes and the other four occur between these times. The time for this celebration is based on the Wheel of the Year which is the Wiccan term for the cycle of the seasons.
